Can I influence the performance of individual departments and increase their effectiveness through changes in the organizational structure?

Yes. The key to success lies in finding "critical spots" of the organizational structure, which cause delay or loss of information with a negative impact on the results of the whole department. Further corrective steps can significantly improve the performance of the whole department and the entire company.

Any company that wants to operate effectively has to have a clearly defined organizational structure with designated relationships of seniority, superiority / subordination and duties of individual employees. The type of  organizational structure is selected to fit the needs of the company, which might include the need for flexibility, control, effectiveness, faultlessness and others. The company should also have an overview of the information and communication flow taking place within the company to be able to identify potential risks (e.g. failure in delivery of a key message, communication noise) and to efficiently prevent them.
